The wreck of a World War I German submarine is to be moved because it is a danger to shipping off Dover.
The U-boat, which has been in the Dover Strait since 1918, is 23.5m (77ft) below the surface, which does not leave enough clearance for modern ships.

Hellas Underwater Explorers (HUE)/Petrou George have the honour to announce the agreement with Britannic Foundation. According with this agreement HUE is going to be responsible for the Britannic Expedition 2007. The expedition will take place from 10-13th of September 2007 in Kea Island, Greece.

At 11 o’clock sharp all beams and air bags were attached and the Fokker Fairchild 27 was able to be lifted from the bottom and led into the water. It took less than 2 minutes for the plane to touch the surface of the water. Afterwards it was towed by a fishing boat ~1 kilometre to the south.
